Fifty One Miles is the second photo book by the LA based, Mexican-born visual artist Izaac Enciso, and documents his journey along the Los Angeles River through abstractions. During several expeditions in the LA River, the artist collected translucent objects like glass, plastics and water, and experimented with these materials. The result was the creation of 51 custom made filters that he used to shoot through with his camera.
Transforming the process in a poetic form of documentation, “such as seeing through the eyes of the river”. Fifty One Miles is a one of a kind adventure full of anecdotes and rare findings, that you can only see at the Los Angeles River.
Each book is printed individually and bound by hand in CDMX.
